Moles are rarely seen but the signs of their activity are all over the landscape. Occasionally it is possible to see a mole above ground. I once saw one in the middle of a small cul-de-sac. It was just lying there in the road, with a cat sitting one side of it and another cat the other side. I guess the cats just could not decide which one of them was going to get the mole, so he was still unscathed. I picked him up and put him down in some rough grass next to a field. He disappeared in minutes.
