Status:
Widespread & common throughout the habitats within the Snowdonia National Park. The fox has no current legal protection other than recent legislation making it illegal to hunt foxes with dogs.
The fox is also present throughout most of the northern hemisphere. The fox is a native mammal to the UK but in the past the population has been supplemented by animals from both Europe and Russia for hunting purposes.
