common pipistrelle snowdonia

Status:

The common pipistrelle is currently a UK Priority species due to a population decline over the past thirty years. The best estimate of the British pre-breeding population is 2 million in 1995, although this was prior to the discovery of the cryptic soprano pipistrelle species (Harris et al., 1995).
Distribution is thought to be throughout mainland Britain and Ireland and widespread within Snowdonia.
